In today’s fast paced lifestyle, there is no longer the feeling of security in any business whether you’ve just started, or worked faithfully for 30 years. Cutbacks and downsizing are everywhere and affect hundreds of thousands of families every year. Even with a university education, there are no guarantees of future long term employment. If you are going to survive the “rat-race”, you need to have a plan, and be open to other options.

One of the best ways I know to succeed, is to find something that interests you and copy it. That means, don’t reinvent the wheel if there is already success the way it is now. Find someone who has mastered the formula, and do what he does! One of the things I wanted most was to run a home business and make enough money to live more than comfortably.

When asked, most people say they would rather work from a home business than go to work for someone else. Choosing a home based business is not an easy task. There are literally hundreds of options available. My guess is that you have been looking for a long time and the right home based businesses has not fallen in your lap. For the past 15 years, my husband and I have run many different types of home based businesses – some successful and some great learning experiences.

To be successful also means helping other people without question! After looking into, studying and working on several home business ventures, there is one that has impacted my life and fulfilled the goals I made. The home business I chose to work at is called "Affiliate Programs". My goal is to provide resources that will help people move from their corporate jobs where someone else has control over your career, to running your own home based business.

Now is the time you need to determine if you have what it takes to run a home based business. Do you have the desire, work ethic and drive required when the rubber hits the road? Your local newspaper is full of courses, classes and services available. The bottom line is that successful people are happy to share their ideas – seize the opportunity to learn from the experts. What I am offering you, is my expertise in a very profitable home based business. This business is not difficult to learn and is geared towards men or women who want to work in a computer based business.

The impact on my life:

It may sound like small potatoes, but I am now able to run my business around the schedule of my family. When my 4 kids come home from school, they come home to mom. I am at every baseball game and every band concert. Now I decide when I want to work and how much I want to make. Being a home-based entrepreneur has many rewards, and they are different for everyone.

Local entrepreneur wins her second award
Janice Byer of Caledon East, owner of Docu-Type Administrative Services , has been honoured with another award for her outstanding achievements as a home-based entrepreneur. On October 24th, 2000, the Brampton Small Business Enterprise Centre presented Ms. Byer with the Home Based Business of the Year Award. The award was presented during the Brampton Board of Trade’s Afterbusiness networking evening, which followed the Bridges to Better Business trade fair at the Brampton Sports and Entertainment Centre.

Byer, who has operated her successful Virtual Assistance and Website Design company from her home since 1998, was recognized for her outstanding progress in her home based business through planning, growth and customer satisfaction; and for her willingness to assist other entrepreneurs and small business owners increase their productivity.
